SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
In order to run BBinSync you need to be running Microsoft Exchange Server. If you are running ordinary POP/IMAP mail the software will not work. Unsure what you are running? Just ask your provider. Or upgrade to MS Exchange. Â Listed below are two providers â our software has been specifically tested with both of them so we know there are no compatibility issues.

Hosted Exchange â The UKâs largest provider of hosted Exchange Mail
Your MS Exchange provider needs to be running something called ActiveSync. Most are. BBinSync is compatible with ActiveSync 12.1 and upwards (the latest version is 14.0 so this will include most providers). If your provider is running Exchange 2003 or newer it is highly likely that the software will work. This includes the latest version, Exchange Server 2010.

Compatible Handsets
Your BlackBerry needs to be running an Operating System of 4.1 or higher - all the models listed below should be supported. However, if you are unsure, it is very easy to check - see below for how to find the OS on your phone.

Checking your Operating System (OS)
Itâs very easy to check what OS you are running.
On your phone go to Options (usually a spanner icon) and then select About.
On the 3rd line down you should see a lower case 'v' followed by a string of numbers.
For example: v5.0.0.423
Thatâs your OS version.

I’m running an OS older than 4.1 – can I upgrade?
We have tested the software with Operating System versions back to OS 4.1. If you are running an older version the software may not work. It is possible to upgrade. Thereâs a decent article on how to here. But be warned you do so at your own risk.
The Requirements
You need to be using Microsoft Exchange Version 2003 and above with ActiveSync enabled and Microsoft Outlook 2003 or above. Thatâs most people using MS Exchange â the odds are you will be supported if you use already use Exchange and Outlook for your email.
What if you donât use MS Exchange? There are two easy options. Simply ask your existing provider if you can upgrade, or visit our Technical Requirements page for more details
What if you donât know? Easy, just ask your email provider. If you are using Outlook you may well be on Exchange.
Mac user? The latest Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition is supported.
